Hi all,
I’m glad you’re all revising hard! Here are some links to useful stuff to practise with…
Firstly, there’s some stuff on the Learning Platform! Once logged in go to: Subject Areas > Maths > Key Stage 3 > Revision for Year 9 tests. Look at the D3 Revision sheet for some older stuff to review.
Secondly, there are loads of past papers (with answers) and resources at eMaths (you’ll be sitting the Level 6-8 papers).
You can also use myMaths to practise.
Finally, BBC Bitesize might be of use.
Good luck! You can leave a comment if you have any questions or find any other useful revision resources!

What type of things should we revise for the problem solving paper?

Hi Amy,
The maths side of things will be the same – it’ll just be testing it in a different way. You may want to search for GCSE functional skills or try here for some ideas.

Hi,
I was just wondering how I could improve my timing in the tests as over Easter, I have been doing some test papers and sometimes I run over the 1 hour time limit by a couple of minutes.
Thanks,
Krishna

If it’s only a few minutes I wouldn’t worry too much. A couple of things you could think about though:
1). If a question is taking more than a few minutes then skip it and return to it at the end if you have time. It’s not worth wrestling a 2-mark question for 10 minutes.
2). Look back at the papers you have done and see if you can identify topics / areas that took more time than others. Work on these!
Hope that helps!

Hi!
I was doing a practice paper a few weeks back and there was this one question I didn’t understand. It’s question 24 on the 2009 paper 2, tier 6-8.
Thanks!
